Bangalore: A 60-year-old passenger who came from Kuwait on a Sri Lankan Airways flight died of cardiac arrest on the premises of the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) at Devanahalli on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Alphonso Miranda, a native of Kanakanagar near J.P. Nagar in the city, a senior official with a well-known paint factory in Kuwait, a senior official of the Immigration Division of the BIA told The Hindu here on Tuesday.
He collected the luggage and soon collapsed and died on the spot, the official said.
The BIA authorities requested medical help from the Colombia Asia Hospital on Bellary Road, which confirmed the death.
This is the first death of a passenger at the BIA, after it commenced operations in 2008.
