Satyajit Mayor and Sanjay Sane of the National Centre for Biological Sciences — TIFR, Bangalore, have been awarded the prestigious and competitive Programme Research Grant from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP).

Dr. Satyajit Mayor shares his award with scientists from Spain, U.S. and the Netherlands. “The grant will support research on Nano-Mechano-Biology: Spatiotemporal Remodelling of Membrane Nanoplatforms under Mechanical Forces, a press release said.

Dr. Sanjay Sane, a neurobiologist investigating the physics of insect flight, along with scientists from the U.S., U.K. and Namibia, will be working on Novel Concepts of Managing Internal Climates.

HFSP is a leading agency for funding international collaborative science, supporting researchers in nearly 35 countries worldwide, including India. Research grants are provided for teams of scientists from different countries who wish to combine their expertise in innovative approaches to questions that cannot be answered by individual laboratories.
