Mysore Tourism Committee launches facility; KSRTC introduces more tourist routes, buses

MYSORE: For those who want to perform abhisheka to Lord Bahubali without visiting Shravanabelagola, here is an opportunity. At the click of the mouse, one can perform abhisheka online during the Mahamastakabhisheka.

The Mysore Tourism Committee launched the facility with the assistance of the company, Software Guru.

Devotees can log on to www.mysoretourism.org and choose the medium for abhisheka - water, kashaya, milk, sugarcane juice, flower, sandal, coconut, turmeric, kumkum and also perform mangalarati and offer floral tributes.

"Even if devotees visit Shravanabelagola, they have to be content with watching the celebrations. The online facility will allow the individual to perform abhisheka to Lord Bahubali," a release from the Mysore Tourism Committee said.

Additional buses

In view of the heavy tourist inflow in connection with the Mahamastakabhisheka celebrations in Shravanabelagola, the KSRTC has come out with several tourist circuits. The poster and brochure containing the information were released here by Deputy Commissioner S. Selva Kumar on Wednesday.

The poster and brochure highlight the services offered by the KSRTC to pilgrims intending to travel to various places. With an estimated three million pilgrims set to attend the nine-day event, the KSRTC will operate over 500 additional buses from all the major places in Karnataka.

Package tours have been introduced to various places of tourists' interest in and around Mysore. The KSRTC has also launched 50 additional buses to Shravanabelagola from various places in Mysore and Mandya districts to enable devotees attend Mahamastakabhisheka celebrations.

Divisional Controller of KSRTC Ashok Kumar, Divisional Mechanical Engineer Vasu and Labour Welfare Officer Amita were also present.
