Workshop on `Recent trends in electronic instrumentation'

SHIMOGA: Dean of Faculty of Sciences and Technology at Gulbarga University A.B. Kulkarni said on Tuesday that the contribution of science and technology for the development of various spheres was immense and that concerted efforts be made to make use of it for the development.

Inaugurating a workshop on "Recent trends in electronic instrumentation" organised by the Department of Studies and Research in Electronics, School of Physical Sciences of the Kuvempu University, he suggested that there be a regular interaction among the scientists and technologists on the innovations being made in their fields.

P. Narasimha Reddy of Sri. Venkateswara University, Tirupati, who was chief guest, said the recent trends in the field of electronic instrumentation had led to a steady rise in the employment opportunities.

He said that workshops on computers and electronics being organised jointly by the industrial and electronic sectors should be held in such a way that they were useful to the students of computer and electronic sciences.

He suggested that Internet connection be given to the electronic science laboratories to ensure their effective functioning.

Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University E.T. Puttaiah presided over the function.

Registrar of the Kuvempu University Praveen Chandra Pandey was present.

Director of the School of Physical Sciences at the Kuvempu University C.S. Bagewadi made an introductory speech.

Coordinator of the Department of Studies and Research of Electronics H.M. Mahesh welcomed the gathering.
