Bangalore: The Common Entrance Test Cell has announced that a special medical vacancy round will be held on Saturday following the Union Government granting permission for a new medical college in Hassan for 2006-07.

The Karnataka Government has directed CET Cell to conduct this round at 4.30 p.m. and offer only the newly sanctioned 100 medical seats at the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences. These seats will be offered to eligible medical rank holders of CET 2006, excluding candidates who have already taken mutual transfers from the Director of Medical Education for their medical seats.

The special medical vacancy round will be held with the first session from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. for ranks one to 4000; second session from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. for ranks 4001 to 9000 and third sessions from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. for ranks 9001 to last rank, the CET Cell added.
