Chief Minister promises to complete pending works in the district

  • The park will come up on 600 acres of land
  • Special economic zones to be set up in various parts of the State

    Bidar: An apparel park will be set up here to provide employment to 30,000 people, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said here on Sunday.

    "A group of investors have shown interest in investing in the district. The park will come up on 600 acres of land in Bidar. We have already taken up survey of the land and will soon lay the foundation stone for the project," Mr. Kumaraswamy said.

    He told presspersons in the Bidar Air Force Base that the State Government would develop special economic zones in various parts of the State including Bidar.

    These will create jobs, alleviate poverty and contribute to the development of the State."

    He was using the base as a transit point during his travel from Gulbarga to Bangalore.

    He said he would spend three days in Bidar next month and launch various development programmes. "I will bring the Ministers for Public Works and Irrigation. We will take steps to complete all pending works concerned with these departments," he said.

    The State Government would take steps to set up an office of the Tourism Department in Bidar, he said.
