Essay contest to be conducted for students
Bidar: The Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Day will be celebrated in Bidar on September 17.
Agriculture Minister and district in-charge Bandeppa Kashempur will inaugurate the celebrations by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the morning. Later, a procession carrying the portrait of Vallabhbhai Patel will go around the main streets of the town. It will end in the Nehru Stadium. Various organisations will present cultural programmes, said a release.
Deputy Commissioner Munish Moudgil has directed the City Municipal Council Commissioner H. Prasad to find a suitable place for installing the statue of Vallabhbhai Patel.
An essay competition for students will be organised on the occasion. Students will compete at three levels school, pre-university and college. The subject will be "Importance of Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Day". Cash prizes will be awarded to winners.
Deputy Director of Public Instruction and block education officers of taluks will be in charge of the competition. CMC will make arrangements for the smooth movement of the procession. Provision for drinking water supply will be made at the stadium.
