Rituals mark the installation ceremony
HAVERI: Amidst chanting of slogans in praise of Kanakadasa and the new seer, Sri Niranjananda Puri Swamiji was installed as the second seer of the Kaginele Kanaka Guru Peetha at a grand function held at Kaginele in Byadgi taluk of Haveri district here on Sunday.
Apart from the heads of four maths attached to the Gurupeeta, Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru of Chitradurga, Sri Tontada Siddhalinga Swamiji of Gadag, Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swamiji and Sri Chandrashekhar Swamiji of Hubli, Sri Shivacharya Swamiji of Sanehalli, Sri Shivalinga Swamiji of Hukkeri Math, Sureshwarananda Swamiji, and Dayanandapuri Swamiji were present.
After conducting various rituals on the premises of the Guru Peetha, the installation ceremony was held.
Sri Jayendrapuri Swamiji from Bangalore and others completed the modalities of "peetarohana" by handing over the crown to the new seer.
Sri Shivanandapuri Swamiji, Sri Ishwaranandapuri Swamiji, Sri Dattanandapuri Swamiji and Sri Siddharamanandapuri Swamiji were also present.
Water Resources Minister K.S. Eshwarappa, Agriculture Minister Bandeppa Kashempur, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister C.M. Udasi, the former Minister H. Vishwanath, and MP C.H. Vijayashankar were present on the occasion.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the function. MP K. Virupakshappa presided over the function.
