HASSAN: The district police have arrested four persons in connection with a triple murder case. The vehicle used to commit the crime has been seized, the Superintendent of Police, Panduranga H. Rane has said.

He told presspersons here on Monday that the body of Raje Gowda (35) of Mudaganur village in Arkalgud taluk was retrieved from the valley of Charmadi Ghat, and those of his second wife, Tulasi

(25) and Nanjamma (55), her mother, were yet to be recovered.

Raje Gowda had left Mudaganur following some misunderstanding

with his wife Manjula. When he returned with his second wife Tulasi two years ago, Manjula refused to admit them. They, along with their two-year old son and Nanjamma, were staying in a temporary shed in his field in the outskirts of the village.

There was a quarrel between Manjula's family and Raje Gowda over sharing of land. When villagers found bloodstains in front of the shed and members of Raje Gowda's family missing on October 20, they informed Konanur Police.

Meanwhile, Shankare Gowda, Tulasi's brother, filed a complaint with the police. A case of kidnapping was registered. At this juncture, the Banakal Police recovered an unidentified body in the valley of Charmadi Ghat and the Konanur Police identified him as Raje Gowda. The police have now arrested four persons and traced the place where the bodies of Nanjamma and Tulasi had been dumped. They had abandoned the child in Dharmasthala, he added.

Mr. Rane said that the accused had murdered all the three in their shed at Mudaganur and taken the bodies to Charmadi Ghat.
