Bangalore: Manja (35), a resident of Cholurpalya, was stabbed to death on Friday near Ramesh Babu Circle.
The police said that Manja and his friends were returning to Cholurpalya after having dinner at a restaurant around 11.30 p.m. when two people stopped them and asked for money. When Manja refused to part with his money, the two stabbed him twice and fled. The police said that Manja had succumbed to injuries after his statement was recorded. A case has been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station.
Three persons were arrested based on a complaint filed by George Mathew on December 22. In his complaint, Mr. Mathew had said that someone had drawn Rs. 19 lakh by misusing his SBI Golden Credit card.
Vinod (27), a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout, H.S. Nagesh (31) of Income Tax Layout, and M.R. Dushyanth (22) also from Income Tax Layout, have been arrested in this connection. Credit cards, 18 Tata Indicom phones, 14 cell phones, CDs, floppies, fake salary account certificates, Rs. 3.7 lakh and gold ornaments weighing 69 gm have been recovered from them.
The police said that the arrested would make fake salary certificates, driving licences and address proof documents. They would submit these along with applications for SBI credit cards.
It has also been found that they used to change their residence every three months to make sure that they were not be traced by the bank officials.
Ravi (45), resident of Muddamma Garden in J.C. Nagar Police Station limits, suffered burns owing to gas leak on Saturday.
The police said that he was changing the LPG cylinder and had not fixed the regulator properly.
