Over 3,000 students to participate in the competitions

  • There will be 36 individual and nine team events
  • Holiday for Gulbarga schools on December 20, 21

    GULBARGA: Gulbarga district will host the State-level Pratibha Karanji competition, for the first time, for high school students from 32 education districts, from Wednesday.

    Working president of the organising committee Shashil G. Namoshi, MLC, and Deputy Director of Public Instruction N.B. Patil told presspersons here on Monday that more than 3,000 students would be participating in 36 individual and nine team events.

    Mr. Namoshi said a holiday had been declared for all schools in Gulbarga city on Wednesday and Thursday to enable students to witness the events, which would be held in S.B. Residential Public School, N.V. Boys High School, S.T. Joseph English Medium High School, St. Marty English Medium School and Vittal Rao Sutrave High School .

    A rolling shield worth Rs. 25,000 would be given to the winners and rolling shields worth Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 would be given to the first and second runners-up respectively. The individual overall champion among boys and girls would be presented a Suvarna Kala Bhushan and Suvarna Kala Ratna Awards a gold medal of 10 grams each and commendation certificates.


    Individual and team events include drama competition, rangoli, recital of poems, Bharatanatyam, Kolattam, clay modelling, science models, elocution, essay, story writing, extempore speech, folk dance, folk song, singing of national anthem, patriotic songs, nada geete, light music, recital of religious verses in Sanskrit and Arabic, team dance, qawali, classical music, ghazal, discussions, painting competition, instrumental music, quiz, fashion show, mimicry and paper craft.
