MANGALORE: The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) authorities have assured to extend their cooperation to coffee exporters to move their cargo through the port.

P. Tamilvanan, chairman, NMPT, gave this assurance at a business promotion drive organised by the port at an interactive trade meeting at Kushalnagar in Kodagu on December 2, according to a press release from S. Gopalakrishna, traffic manager, NMPT, issued here on Monday.

The meeting was part of a series of business development sessions that the port was organising in various locations in the hinterland.

Interactive session

The port had organised an interactive session jointly with the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangalore. The purpose of the meeting at Kushalnagar was to interact with exporters and sort out issues that might hamper the smooth movement of their cargo through New Mangalore Port, the release said.
