HUBLI: The Commercial Department of South Western Railway celebrated the 54th Railway Week in Hubli on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, Chief Commercial Manager S.K. Behera and Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Business) Sanjeeb Halder appreciated the good work done by the officials of the department.

Mr. Behera said that the hard work by the frontline staff such as booking clerks and ticket checking staff had resulted in an increase in passenger traffic and earnings.

He said that the South Western Railway was the second zone in the Indian Railway after South Eastern Railway in recording growth in passenger traffic during 2008-09. On the occasion, five officials of the department and 108 personnel from Hubli, Bangalore and Mysore divisions were given awards and cash prizes.
