Bangalore: A 24-year-old software engineer was found hanging in his house at HSR Layout 6th Stage early on Monday.

The police said Ligesh, a native of Kannur in Kerala, relocated to the city few months back and had started his own firm.

Ligesh was talking with his office boy till 1.30 a.m. after which he hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his rented home. The suicide came to light when the office boy came to his house later in the day.


A 26-year-old owner of a printing press was allegedly murdered in Kanaka Nagar in Kumaraswamy Layout police station limits on Monday.

According to the police, Nagaraj, the victim, had identified himself with one of the two gangs that fought against each other near Annamadevi temple two years ago. On Sunday night, Nagaraj was attacked allegedly by the rival gang members while he was walking near Balaji Residency. Nagaraj was taken to NIMHANS, where he died in the early hours on Monday.


A 60-year-old flower vendor was crushed under the wheels of a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus near RPC Layout bus stand on Monday.

The police said Puttamma (60), a resident of Pipeline Road, came under the wheels of the bus when it was being taken in the reverse. The bus driver is said to have fled.


Francis (50) and Muneesh (20), residents of Byappanahalli, were injured when the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a private bus near ITI junction on Old Madras Road on Monday. While Francis was taken to NIMHANS, Muneesh has been admitted to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.


The Whitefield police have arrested Prasad (24) for his alleged involvement in stealing money and coupons from a hotel in the ITPL. The police have recovered Rs. 50,000 from him.
