Audio of Jai Hind released at a function in Davangere
Actor Pooja Gandhi has said that she is now a Kannadiga since she has acted in more than 25 Kannada films in the past five years. She appealed to the people of Karnataka and the Kannada film industry to treat her as part of their family.
Ms. Gandhi, who had come here on Saturday to participate in a function organised for the audio release of Jai Hind , a Kannada film, told presspersons that she could speak and write Kannada.
She attributed her success in the Kannada film industry to the love, affection and support of the people of Karnataka.
To a question, she said that she wanted to act only in Kannada films and had not yet decided on acting in films in other languages. She described the plot of Jai Hind as being entirely different from others.
She played the role of a doctor and wife of a military officer.
Major Srinivas Poojar, producer, said that the objective of the film was to develop patriotism among the youth. The film focussed on how to curb terrorism in the country. His long service in the military had provided him with an idea of how to combat terrorism.
The movie would be released next month.
Sandesh, who plays the protagonist, said that he had to undergo six months' training at the Madras Engineering Group and Centre (MEG&C) in Bangalore for the role.
Krishna V. Kulkarni, Palani D. Senapathi and others, who have acted in the film, were present.
