BANGALORE: The Vasantharatna Foundation for Arts will stage the play “The Silent Front,” a fund raising programme aimed to help next to the kin of those killed in action, at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall here on Friday.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, Subhashini Vasanth, director of the foundation, who is also the wife of late Col. Vasanth, said the aim of the foundation was to create awareness among the people about the life of wives of Armymen and respect the families of the soldiers. “We want to help the affected families of the soldiers,” she said.
The play is a tribute to the soldier’s wife. It tells the story of three generations of women, moving from pre-Independent India to the Kargil war. It focusses on the lives and dilemmas of each of these women and how they rise above them, she said. “For the first time, we are performing this in Bangalore next to New Delhi,” Ms. Vasanth said.
Tickets are priced at Rs. 1,000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 200 and available at Fab India in Jayanagar, Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Vyalikaval, Alliance Franchise in Vasanthnagar, and Barista Coffee on New BEL Road.
