BANGALORE: The Bangalore University College Teachers’ Association (BUCTA) has said that the semester scheme introduced by the Bangalore University in 2004 was a failure.

In a press release here on Wednesday, association president K.G. Lokesh said that by conducting two examinations in a year, the administration in over 650 degree colleges had turned chaotic affecting students, parents and teachers.

He said there was severe manpower shortage in the examination wing and academic section of Bangalore University and shortage of teachers in colleges to teach newly introduced compulsory subjects such as Computer Application, Indian Constitution and Environmental Sciences. The university had not been able to declare fault-free results on time during the last six semesters.
