HUBLI: As many as 34 musicians, including Shrinivas Joshi (son of Hindustani vocalist Bhimsen Joshi), will be performing at a music festival to be held at Kundagol in Dharwad district on October 4 and 5.
The annual music festival is being held under the aegis of Shri Guruavarya Sawai Gandharva Vishwastha Samsthe, Kundagol, as part of the 55th death anniversary of Sawai Gandharva. It will be inaugurated by nonagenarian vocalist Gangubai Hangal. Shrikant Deshpande, Madhav Gudi, Naganath Wodeyar, Sripati Padigar, Ravindra Yavagal (tabla), Basavaraj Handingoda (shehnai), Kamalakar Nayak and Nikhil Joshi (sitar) are some of the other artistes who will be performing during the festival.
The samsthe said in a release that Madhav Gudi of Dharwad, Suguna Chandavarkar of Bagalkot, Kesha Bhadage of Puna, Baburao Hangal (son of Gangubai Hangal) and Indudhar Nirodi of Mysore would be felicitated on the occasion.
