DAVANGERE: The Joint Director of Agriculture, R.G. Gollar, has said that grants have been released to Harpanahalli taluk, now declared drought-hit, so that diesel can be purchased and rationed out to farmers using irrigation pumpsets. Mr. Gollar has, in a statement issued here on Friday, said each farmer using a diesel pumpset would get Rs. 1,000 for each hectare of land with an upper limit of two hectares. He has instructed eligible farmers to contact the Raitha Samparka Kendras in Harpanahalli, Kasaba, Telagi, Arsikere and Chigateri and avail themselves of the grants.
