bANGALORE: JSS Public School, Banashankari, held its investiture ceremony recently. The prefects of the student body, Sarvagna, were bestowed with titles and responsibilities. Prof. Siddappa, Director, JSS Foundation for Science and Society, was chief guest and he handed over the flags and pinned the badges on the new leaders. Principal Geetha Basavaraj administered the oath and told them to participate in all activities of the school with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. Subject clubs and co-curricular activities were also inaugurated on the day. Vishwanath was the school captain, while Anush was elected vice-captain.Prize day
The annual prize day was special for the students of ICSE wing of Baldwin Girls’ High School, Richmond Road. In view of the excellent results obtained in the board exams, the school organised a separate felicitation function for the students.
Principal Indira Williams presented the school report and it highlighted the achievements of the students. In all, 294 students had passed in first class. Ms. Indira congratulated the batch and thanked them for bringing laurels to the institution.
Princess Franklyn, Principal of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School, was chief guest and she gave away prizes to the meritorious students. In her address, she urged the students to understand the concept of the word discipline, which is only an extension of love one has for oneself.
“Watch your words, they become your thoughts. Watch your thoughts, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny,” Ms. Franklyn said.
Sukrita Chatterji was the proud recipient of T. K. Ramachandran Shield for the outgoing student with the best academic record and Soundaram Nallamuthu Memorial Fund for the best outgoing student (ICSE 2007). Jyothi Vijayakumar walked away with The Srinija Vasudevan Rolling Trophy for proficiency in orchestra-cum-band.Investiture
