BANGALORE: Two BJP MLAs, Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri and Lakshman Sangappa Savadi, on Thursday took oath as Parliamentary Secretaries to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.

The Chief Minister administered the oath of office to Mr. Kageri, who represents Ankola, and Mr. Savadi, who represents Athani, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna and Ministers. Though the legislators have been appointed Parliamentary Secretaries to the Chief Minister, they are attached to the Deputy Chief Minister. Law Minister M.P. Prakash clarified that there was no provision to appoint Parliamentary Secretaries to the Deputy Chief Minister. Mr. Kageri, third time MLA, took oath twice. First, he took oath as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister.

Immediately, the mistake was noted and later he took oath for the second time as Parliamentary secretary to the Chief Minster. Born in 1961, Mr. Kageri was the member of 10th and 11th Legislative Assembly. He was commerce graduate. The first time MLA Mr. Savadi was born in 1960.
