Sri Moorusavir Math confers award on writer P.S. Shankar

HUBLI: Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar has warned people against indulging in a false campaign against the Sri Moorusavir Math in Hubli.

He was speaking at the fourth death anniversary of Sri Gangadhara Rajayogindra swamiji and the presentation of the "Moojagam Sahitya Prashasti" to writer P.S. Shankar here on Saturday. Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swamiji conferred the award on Mr. Shankar.

Recalling the contribution of the earlier seer who was popularly known as "Moojagam", he said all political parties would support measures aimed at the development of the math and expansion of its social and educational activities. "We will not tolerate activities that are against the views of the earlier seer and also the false campaign against the math and its successors," Mr. Shettar said.

Mr. Shankar said the onus of wiping out caste conflicts and hatred in the society was on seers of Veerashaiva maths. He thanked the math for recognising his work .

Sri Siddhalinga Swamiji of Eradettina Math, Sri Basavalinga Swamiji of Rudrakshi math and several other seers and eminent personalities were present. President of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shankranna Munavalli welcomed the gathering.
