BANGALORE: A watchman and a mason were murdered in incidents reported from Rajajinagar and MICO Layout police station limits.

The police said Narasimha Murthy (50) of Tumkur, a watchman of the Gayathrinagar Park, was found murdered inside the park on Thursday.

His head had been smashed with a boulder, the police said. On Wednesday, after all the visitors had left, Murthy had locked the park's gate. The Rajajinagar police, who have registered a case, said they were yet to ascertain the motive in the case.

In the other incident, Anand (30), a mason and a resident of Tavarekere, was found murdered near a garment factory in N.S. Palya on Thursday.

He had been attacked with sharp weapons and his limbs were almost severed, the police said. The police suspect Anand's neighbour Sundar's hand in the offence. The MICO Layout police have registered a case.


Armed men robbed a software engineer of his gold ring, a chain, a mobile phone and cash in Ramamurthynagar police station limits in the early hours of Wednesday.

The police said that around 1.30 a.m. four men who came in a car stopped Jagadish Kumar's motorcycle on Hennur Main Road. They threatened him with a knife and took away the gold ring, the chain, phone and the cash. The Ramamurthynagar police have registered a case.


Lokesh (24), a final year B.Com student, was electrocuted when he was repairing a pump set at his house in Doddaballapur town in Bangalore Rural district on Wednesday.

Three killed

Three persons were killed in as many road accidents reported from K.R. Puram traffic police station limits on Wednesday.

A pedestrian, a woman aged around 70, died when she was knocked down by a lorry on Whitefield Road around 1.45 p.m.

Venkataramana (36) was killed after a water tanker rammed his motorcycle at Abbaiah Naidu Layout on Kaggadasapura Main Road around 3.45 p.m.

Usha Ramesh (28) was killed on the spot after a tanker hit the motorcycle on which she was riding pillion. The accident occurred around 5.15 p.m. on Old Madras Road, off Benniganahalli railway bridge, the police said. The K.R. Puram traffic police have registered cases.

Dies of burns

Shashikala (26), who suffered burns while cooking at her house on Tuesday, died at a hospital on Thursday. She was a resident of Govinda Shettypalya, off Hosur Road, in Parappana Agrahara police station limits.
