LOTTERY SELLERS were common in Bangalore at one time. They operated in singles and twos and were visible during office hours at traffic signals, crowded bus stands and the railway station at Majestic, the High Court area and in government offices, including the Vidhana Soudha. A majority of these agents have some disability or the other and they eke out a living selling lottery tickets in retail. However, once the State Government banned lotteries, they seem to have melted away from the scene even though the High Court stayed the ban.

The public miss their role in the city scenery.
