BANGALORE: The police have heightened security at the Infosys facility at Electronics City here following reports that Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists might storm the office to protest against certain statements made by IT major's Chief Mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike had announced that it would hold demonstration in front of Infosys facilities in the State to protest against Mr. Murthy's reported statements about the agitation against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (MICO Layout sub-division) M.B. Rajendra Prasad told The Hindu on Tuesday that although there were such reports, the vedike activists did not hold any demonstration near the Infosys.

To prevent any untoward incident, a platoon of armed policemen had been deployed at the Infosys facility at Electronics City, Mr. Prasad added.
