BANGALORE: The former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests S. Parameshwarappa, who is looking into Turahalli forestland scam, is reportedly receiving threatening calls.

Mr. Parameshwarappa said the calls started coming after he took up the matter for investigation in September 2006 as per the direction of Upa Lokayukta G. Patri Basavana Goud. "For the past two days the telephone calls have only increased. I have brought this to the notice of the Upa Lokayukta," he said.

Mr. Goud said a letter had been sent to city Police Commissioner Neelam Achuta Rao asking him to provide security to Mr. Parameshwarappa.

The Upa Lokayukta took suo motu notice of reports of the land scam and asked Mr. Parameshwarappa and Principal Secretary (Revenue) S.M. Jamdar to submit reports. Mr. Jamadar has already submitted his report.
