Activists burn the effigy of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi
HASSAN: The bandh called by Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, along with Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and other pro-Kannada activists in Arsikere town, 45 km from Hassan was observed partially.
Although schools and colleges, few shops and other business establishments were closed, all Government offices and courts functioned normally. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operated its services throughout the day. The movement of trains was not affected in anyway owing to the partial bandh.
Agitators burnt the effigy of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the busy circle near the KSRTC bus stand.
President of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha Kodihalli Chandrasekhar and district convener of Dalit Sagharsha Samiti Ramu addressed the agitators.
They urged the Central Government not to implement the judgment of the tribunal.
