Girls’ team from Jnanadeepa School shares championship in under-14 category

St. Sophia School of Hissar emerges champions

in under-19 boys’ category

SHIMOGA: Jnanadeepa School retained the national handball championship (under-19 boys’ category) which concluded here on Wednesday. It defeated the DDPS Sanjay Gandhi Ghaziabad team by 10-9 goals.

The girls’ team from Jnanadeepa School shared the championship in the under-14 category with the DDPS Sanjay Gandhi Ghaziabad team. Both teams were declared co-winners in the match which could not be played fully owing to rain.

The JP Vidyamandir team won the championship in the boys’ section (under-14) by defeating the Kalsa Academy of Rajasthan by 26-25 goals.

St. Sophia School of Hissar defeated the DDPS Sanjay Nagar Ghaziabad team by a margin of 36-28 goals to emerge champions in the boys’ section (under-19).

Secretary of Jnanadeepa Vidya Samsthe V. Devendra gave away the cash award of Rs. 50,000 each to Jnanadeepa and DDPS Ghaziabad teams.

Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission D.H. Shankaramurthy gave away the prizes to the winners.
