MANGALORE: The Sangeet Bharati Foundation has organised a day-long Hindustani music event dedicated to the ragas Bhairav and Kalyan here on Sunday (November 22).
Titled Bhairav-Kalyan Utsav, the day will begin with a vocal rendition by Pune-based musician Revati Kamath at 9 a.m. It will be followed by a Tabla solo by Abhijit Banerjee of Kolkata and later by a vocal performance by Kalpana Zokarkar of Indore.
A press release issued by the foundation here on Friday says that the afternoon session, that will start at 4 p.m., will have a vocal concert by Arshad Ali of Kolkata and a Santoor performance by Tarun Bhattacharya, also from Kolkata.
The artistes will be accompanied on the tabla by Abhijit Banerjee and Bharat Kamath of Pune, and on the harmonium by Sudhir Nayak of Mumbai and Narendra L. Nayak of Mangalore.
The release said entry is free for all.
