HUBLI: South Western Railway has decided to run a special train (single service) between Yashwanthpur and Puducherry on Thursday in view of inauguration of Yashwanthpur- Pondicherry Garib Rath Express at Pondicherry on Saturday.

According to a press release, the Yashwanthpur-Puducherry Garib Rath Special Train (0679) will depart from Yashwanthpur at 11.15 p.m. on Thursday and reach Pondicherry at 9.20 a.m. next day. The special train will have 18 coaches comprising 16 AC 3-tier high capacity coaches and two generator cars.

After the inauguration on December 13, the train will be running as weekly express starting from December 19 from Yeshwanthpur end and from December 20 from Pondicherry end, the release said.

The train will reach Puducherry from Bangalore via Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem and Villupuram.
