He is in Madikeri shooting ‘Payase Raja’
Madikeri: Malayalam actor Mammootty offered Bakrid prayers at the Idgah maidan here on Tuesday.
Mr. Mammootty offered prayers and immediately left the venue before many could notice him.
However, some children recognised the hero instantly to admire him. Mr. Mammootty is in town shooting for a Malayalam film, “Payase Raja”.
The shooting began in January, Ravi, location manager of the film, told The Hindu.
The film was being shot in enchanting locations such as Mandalapatti, Mukkodlu, Hattihole and Haleri, Mr. Ravi said.
A huge structure resembling a fort had been built at Mukkodlu village.
The story was about a king at Kannur in Kerala, who fought the British. The king is said to be a contemporary of Tipu Sultan.
Sharat Kumar, Suman, Manoj K. Jayan, Kannika were among those in the cast. The film is directed by national award winning director Hariharan and produced by Gokulam movies, Chennai, Mr. Ravi said.
