Bangalore: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is holding State-wide protests on August 1 to condemn the “failures of the BJP budget” and the style of functioning of the Government that has 10 “tainted” ministers in its Cabinet.

CPI(M) State party secretary V.J.K. Nair told presspersons here on Friday after the State Committee meeting that although the budget had promised free power to irrigation pumpsets, there was no talk on how it would be provided given the power crisis facing the State. Despite the “pro-former agenda”, there was no provision in the budget for it, he said.
