MANGALORE: A week-long extravaganza awaits the Yakshagana and talamaddale lovers as the “Yakshagana Saptaha”, organised by Sri Krishna Yaksha Sabha of Mangalore at the Town Hall here, begins from July 28.

The talamaddale shows performances from various troupes, including the one by an all-woman troupe on August 3, the final day, and a special Yakshagana by an all-children troupe, will enthral the connoisseurs of these traditional arts.

Secretary of the sabha Sudhakar Rao Pejavar said, in a press release here on Monday, that some of the most popular Yakshagana episodes would be performed during the sapthaha. M.B. Puranik, convener of the sabha, said that both Tenkutittu and Badagutittu styles would be on display.
