BANGALORE: A 20-member delegation of senior Congress leaders headed by the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly M. Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday left for New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on Sunday with a charter of demands including approval for the Kalasa Banduri nala, classical status to Kannada and to amend Article 371 of the Constitution to provide better welfare measures to the people of Hyderabad Karnataka.

The delegation would meet the Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy.

While separate memoranda would be submitted to Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil and Union Culture Minister Ambika Soni, a comprehensive memorandum would be presented to Prime Minister.

According to a party functionary, the delegation will present another memorandum seeking adequate allocation of fertilizers.
