HUBLI: The ‘Red Ribbon Express’, which began its journey from New Delhi from December 1, 2007, with the objective of creating awareness on HIV/AIDS will come to Karnataka in July and go on to Goa in August.
According to a release issued by South Western Railway, the ‘Red Ribbon Express’ special train would leave Jolarpettai on Southern Railway on July 21 at 2 a.m. and reach Bangarpet at 4 a.m. The train has seven Shatabdi-type AC coaches and one power car.
The special train will leave Bangarpet station at 2 a.m. on July 23 and reach Bangalore Cantonment at 4 a.m. the same day, and will be stationed there for two days.
Leaving Bangalore Cantonment on July 25 at 1 a.m., the train will reach Mysore Junction at 4.30 a.m. From there it will move to Hassan on July 27 and then to Sakleshpur on July 29. The special train will reach Arsikere on July 31, Birur on August 2, Shimoga on August 4 and Chikkajajur on August 6.
It will reach Hospet in Hubli division on August 8. On August 10, it will leave for Hubli and reach there on August 11 at 4 a.m. The train will be stationed at Hubli for three days. It will reach Dharwad on August 14 and will stop there for two days.
Once on the Konkan Railway, the train will arrive at Madagaon (Goa) on August 17. It will leave Madagaon at 10 p.m. on August 18 and from there it will go to Central Railway via Miraj, Londa and Belgaum, the release said.
