BANGALORE: The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) will throw open its new multi-facilitation centre called “KASSIA Udyog Bhavan,” which has been built at a cost of Rs. 10 crore. The centre will be inaugurated by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on June 23.

Outlining the facilities the centre will offer to the small-scale industries, KASSIA president M.C.R. Shetty said the udyog bhavan was unique to Karnataka and has several facilities, including a centre for quality development and research, techno-economic research and development centre, which is hosted by the Canara Bank, and international sub-contract exchange with the participation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation. The bhavan also boasts of having a conference hall with a capacity of 450 persons, display centre (exhibition hall), export import cell and a small business school.

Mr. Shetty said the KASSIA Udyog Bhavan will also promote trade and business, knowledge base management, vendor development, small industry research, association promotion and IT competency development and partnership building.
