Bangalore: The ICICI Bank has lodged a complaint with the Airport Police over the loss of Rs. 14.31 lakh from its ATM in ATR Complex in Murugeshpalya on Wednesday. The police said that the complaint had been filed by the manager.
According to the complaint, money had been deposited in the ATM on June 15 and again around 2 a.m. on June 16.
The police said that only two persons knew the code to open the ATM. A case has been registered.
The Kadugondanahalli police arrested two persons on charges of thefts on June 12. The names of the arrested were given as Wasim Khan (22) alias Daed Putia of R.T. Nagar and Sayed Nadim (23) alias K.G. Halli.
The police seized Rs. 6.48 lakh in cash and gold jewellery worth Rs. 2 lakh from the accused. With their arrest, the police have solved theft cases reported in D.J. Halli and K.G. Halli police station limits.
Two end life
Two cases of suicide were reported in the city. The Yeshwanthpur police said Anjana Reddy (27), resident of Brindavan Nagar, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her home on the night of June 16. The police said they were yet to ascertain the reason behind the decision of Anjana, wife of Surendra Reddy.
Mangala (28), wife of Ravi, committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in HAL 2nd Stage.
The incident came to light on Thursday morning. The police said that Mangala was married to Ravi for the past three years.
They suspect marital discord to be the reason behind her suicide.
