Bangalore: After the withdrawal of the controversial circular issued by the Department of Religious Endowment and Charitable Institutions issued under the orders of the Muzrai Minister Krishnaiah Shetty directing all its temples to conduct puja in the name of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa following criticism by the opposition parties and public, it was back to square one as far as the conduct of “homa” and “Havana” in the State Government secretariat.

The Information and IT-BT Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, who occupied his chamber in Vikasa Soudha on Friday, conducted elaborate Hindu rituals under the guidance of half a dozen priests for over three hours. It was hardly a quiet affair. The smoke emanating from the homakunda in the Minister`s chamber and the sound of Vedic hymns spread to the neighbouring rooms. The passage near his chamber was filled with relatives and friends of the Minister.
