Bangalore: The police, on Wednesday, raided two places in the city and seized saris and liquor allegedly being distributed by political parties to voters. The MICO Layout Police raided the house of a Congress worker and seized 12 bags of saris worth Rs. 2 lakh at Balajinagar.

In another incident, MICO Layout Police seized a lorry carrying silk yarns and saris at Balajinagar at 10.45 p.m. The police said that the Congress and the BJP made charges and counter charges against each other in this connection.

In the other incident, the Jnanabharathi police raided a farmhouse at Mellatahalli Kengunte. They found 700 cases of premium liquor worth Rs. 10 lakh, stored in a temporary shed. They also seized a car. The police said that the liquor was smuggled from Goa.
