17 schools in the district have secured 100 per cent results

MYSORE: Mysore district has been ranked 20 in the State regarding the performance in the SSLC examination.It has moved up four places from the 24th rank in the State last year.

In all, 36,429 students appeared for the examination of which 25,172 students passed. Of 18,257 boys who appeared for the examination, 12,662 of them cleared it and of 18,172 girls who appeared for the examination, 12,510 passed.

Two of the toppers in the State are from Mysore city. They are: G. Giridhar from Sadvidya High School and N. Rajesh Simha from Vidyavardhaka School. Both of them scored 618 marks out of 625. Mysore taluk was ranked first among the taluks with a pass percentage of 83, Mysore south was ranked second with 73 per cent and Hunsur was ranked third with 72 per cent.

Of 106 students from Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala in Mysore, who appeared for the examination, 50 of them scored distinction and 54 of them passed with a first class.In addition, 17 schools in the district have secured 100 per cent results and they are VSS Pandit Nehru Vidyavardhaka High School, Kuvempunagar; Vishwa Pragna High School, Sharadevinagar; Carmel English Convent High School, Nanjangud; Sri Rangaswamy High School, Kittur, Periyapatna; Government. High School, Belathoor, H.D. Kote; Chandramouleshwara High School, Kolagala, H.D. Kote; Government High School, Geresenahalli, Hunsur; Government. High School, Harave, Hunsur; Government High School, Doddamalagodu, T. Narasipur; Government High School, Varakodu, Mysore taluk; Sai Saraswathi High School, Bogadi; Vidyajyothi High School, Nadanahalli; Mercy High School, Srirampura; SVEI High School; Sri Guru Vidyavikas High School, Kadakola; Kautilya Vidyalaya; Savithri Convent.

Of 158 students from Gnanaganga Vidyapeeta who appeared for the examination, 148 passed.
