Students should turn their positive attitudes into reality: principal

BANGALORE: At a solemn yet touching ceremony, Prasiddhi School, Vasanthnagar, bade farewell to its outgoing students of Class X here. In all, 46 students walked out of the portals of the school with values inculcated in them by their mentors.

They took a pledge to carry the Prasiddhian spirit with them and also to uphold the values learnt at school. They vowed to be responsible and contributing citizens.

In her farewell speech, students Sandhya and Mehendi echoed the feelings of their classmates. Sandhya said that the school had provided them sheltered freedom.

They had not only gained knowledge through experience but also experienced the knowledge. Mehendi called the school a home and said it was heartrending to leave the home.

They said many memories wash over them as they realise that this is the last time they will be seen as children. “I smile though, as I think of the highlights of our school years,” Mehendi said.

Principal V. Meenakshi wished all her students the best in their future as they were ready to stride into the world of challenges. “You will now be in charge of your lives. The lessons and guidance that we have given you should hold you in good stead,” she said.

Ms. Meenakshi also told the outgoing students to turn their positive attitudes into reality.

In his valedictory address, Ajit Kaikini, Director of Buoyancee, told the students to convert aspirations into inspirations.

The students of junior classes presented a ballet which enunciated how a individual can overcome negative emotions through determination, courage, confidence, discipline, honesty and truthfulness.

The teachers sang the Hindi film song “Chalte, chalte, mere geet yaad rakhana” that left the students misty-eyed.

Rakshith, Rasika, Sujjain, Ronack, Ashish, Madhuri, Jeet, Arjun and Sripriya were given special awards.

Graduation day

Florence Public School, R.T. Nagar, bade fond farewell to its outgoing students at the graduation ceremony held at the Dharmashri Resort recently.

It was a day of mixed feelings for the students and the staff. The theme for the day was “stars”, in a reference to new horizons ahead.

Principal Abida administered the oath, insisting on “truth, humility and honesty”. The outgoing students were presented with mementoes as a token of love and were blessed thus: “Be not dismayed whatever be the tide; God will take care of you.”

Chairman of the institution F.A. Kudroli urged the students to uphold the values instilled at school and strive for excellence.

The outgoing students displayed their oratory skills and expressed their gratitude to their mentors. Teachers advised the students to be aware of the intricacies of life and face life with conviction. Students who brought laurels to the institution and those who excelled in various spheres were given trophies.
