DAVANGERE: Activists of Sri Ramasene have strongly opposed the reported attempts of Congress leaders to thwart the efforts of the Corps of Detectives (CoD) and other investigating agencies engaged in interrogating the terror suspects.

They condemned the attitude of the leaders and said that they were trying to politicise a sensitive issue which concerned the safety and security of the people.

The protesters took out a procession in the city condemning the Congress leaders for their action and later burnt the effigies of the suspected terrorists and Congress leaders at Gandhi Circle.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

‘Unfair allegations’

The protesters also criticised the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda for making “unfair” allegations against the CoD. Raghavendra Katare, Jnanaprakash and Parusharam of the Sri Ramasene led the agitation.
