MYSORE: The two-day Malenadu Pakotsav, a food festival where more than 50 varieties from Malnad region were on show, concluded on Sunday with a large number of food lovers thronging the Dasara Exhibition grounds to savour the delicacies.
It was a virtual feast for the connoisseurs of food at the festival, where mouth-watering dishes such as jilebi, jackfruit dosa, sugarcane dosa, apart from a variety of chutneys and vegetable playas were served. The Malnad food festival has been organised under the auspices of Mysore Seema Parishat, Amruthadhara Mahotsava Samithi and Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam.
Pontiff of Sri Ramachandrapura Math, Shimoga, and Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji inaugurated the food festival on Saturday.
The former Minister G.T. Deve Gowda regretted the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and advocated the use of cow dung-based manure.
