BANGALORE: The Commercial Street police have arrested Chandrashekar (53) of Pattegarpalya, who was allegedly involved in accepting money by threatening officials of action by Lokayukta. According to the complaint filed by Superintendent of Police Madhukar Shetty, Chandrashekar claimed himself to be an employee in Lokayukta and called officers from the Public Works Department and Regional Transport Office. He was reportedly telling the officers of inquiry and demanded money to stop it.

He had collected a huge amount of money from several officials. The Commercial Street police have arrested Chandrashekar on charges of extortion and cheating. — Staff Reporter
