Udupi: Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers’ Club (PAAC) has made arrangements for people to watch the annular solar eclipse at Poornaprajna College here on January 15.

Speaking to presspersons here on Wednesday, head of the Department of Physics A.P. Bhat said that the solar eclipse would be visible from 11.07 a.m. to 3.06 p.m.

At 1.15 p.m., 80 per cent of the eclipse would be visible from Udupi, he said and cautioned people against viewing the sun without eye protection.

The eclipse should be seen through a pin-hole camera or special dark glasses manufactured by the Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishath, he said.

As many as 70 such glasses were available with the PAAC, he said and urged the people not to miss an opportunity to watch the eclipse.
