WINDOWS 8.1 RELEASED
On Thursday, software giant Microsoft released its much-awaited update to the Windows 8 ecosystem, codenamed 8.1. The freely downloadable upgrade to the ‘touch-tuned’ operating system addresses many of the glitches users faced with Windows 8, which was released around a year ago. The most talked about change for desktop users is the return of the Start button. For those who aren’t particularly comfortable with the all-new tiles format, it allows you to boot to desktop. There are a few touch and gesture updates. For instance, one that allows you to wave in front of the camera to get any app or interface to respond. Other functional changes include an update to the email app, search and better tab browsing.
