Water adalat

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will hold a water adalat to address issues, including billing, delay in water supply and provision of sanitary connections, on Tuesday at Chikkalalbagh. Applications invited

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has invited applications from the managements of its affiliated colleges for continuation of the affiliation for their existing courses for the academic year of 2008-09.

Applications are invited for starting new or additional courses and increase in intake at medical and dental colleges, and for postgraduate courses in pharmacy and nursing. The applications will be issued till May 19. The last date for submission of the forms without fine is June 1.

Issue of passes

Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will issue bi-monthly student concession passes for May and June from Tuesday to students pursuing technical, professional and general graduation courses as well as those who have the passes issued by the BMTC for the academic year 2006-07. The passes will be provided at the Kempegowda bus station between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on all days of the week.

Academic senate

The third Academic Senate of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has been constituted, following the end of the second Academic Senate's term on April 7. V.K. Aatre, former advisor to the Defence Minister, and A.R. Upadhya, National Aerospace Laboratories Director, are among members of the senate nominated. The term of office of the Academic Senate members will be three years, starting from April 8.

Meditation courses

Time extended

Bangalore University has extended the last date to May 9 for payment of examination fees for both postgraduate and undergraduate examinations. Students will have to pay a special fine of Rs. 500 along with the usual fee and fine. There will not be any further extension, a university release said.
