APL families left

in the lurch

Janata Dal (Secular) member K.M. Shivalinge Gowda on Thursday criticised the government in the Legislative Assembly for stopping distribution of rice to APL families to augment supplies for the Re.1-a-kg rice scheme for BPL families. He warned that they might approach the court against such discrimination.

He said 35,18,252 APL families were deprived of their legitimate right of getting foodgrains from the fair price depots. — Special Correspondent
