SHIMOGA: The newly-elected president of the Karnataka State Cooperative Apex Bank R.M. Manjunath Gowda said here on Wednesday that the bank's branch would be opened in Shimoga shortly.
He was addressing a gathering at the Bharatiya Janata Party district office after he was felicitated. He said that he had already sought approval from the Reserve Bank of India and the branch would be opened as soon as the approval was given. Mr. Gowda claimed he had resolved to take the benefits of the bank to the people's doorsteps.
The bank, which has a budgetary allocation of Rs. 30,000 crore, was poised to utilise it in a more effective manner for the benefit of the people, he said.
Chief guest P.V. Krishna Bhat, MLC, felicitated Mr. Gowda.
MLC and president the BJP's district unit R.K. Siddaramanna presided over the function.
