City-based Sangeet Bharathi Foundation has organised a musical evening on November 18 at Town Hall at 6 p.m.

Called “Naad Sandhya”, it will feature young and upcoming Hindustani vocalist Anagha Bhat from Bangalore and renowned sarod player Pt. Narendranath Dhar from Kolkatta. While Ms. Bhat, a disciple of Geetha Hegde, will be accompanied on the tabla, Gopalakrishna Hegde of Honnavar and on the harmonium by Narendra Nayak; the sarod maestro will be accompanied on the tabla by Pt. Ravindra Yavagal of Bangalore.

Born in Kolkata, Pt. Narendranath Dhar was trained initially by his father Nemai Chand Dhar and later by Samarendra Nath Sikdar and Radhika Mohan Maitra. Entry is free for the programme but through entry passes that will be made availed at venue between 4.30 p.m. and 5.15 p.m. according to well-known sitar player and president of Sangeet Bharathi Foundation Ustad Rafique Khan.
